Micing guitar amp in treated room vs untreated
Post Body

***EDIT: The amp in question is a tube amp.

Hey guys, please help me settle a debate I'm having.

I'm tracking some guitar parts for a song I'm working on. I'm micing an amp with a cardoid condenser mic. Now, I can just record the guitar parts in my room at home, no problem. Super convenient. I do, however, have the option of recording them in a music rehearsal room at a nearby college. Obviously this would be a better recording environment for a miced guitar (as far as I know). It would just be wayy more inconvenient to do it this way.

Can I get away with recording the guitar at home or would it be worth it to record it in the rehearsal room? Any and ann input is welcome. Thank you.
