When did the microphone setup for the presidents lecturn change?

In the past rhe typical mic setup for the president and other such executive level dignitaries was two 57s on a short stick but more offten the current administration is opting for a single 57 on a large goseneck. Is this because of his hight or is there something else at work? To me as a video guy it ruins the shot of him speaking (not that I care but this isn't a political thread ). It just looks like it cuts off everything below his nose and thats not good for the photos.
