Not sure I'm using the correct terms in english, but what I mean is that I have a track/album that I would love to have the original multitracks for. Only for my own listening pleasure. Not for selling, distributing, remixing - simply just to plug the files into my DAW, mix it if it's not already submixes, and then just enjoy.
I have my reasons for wanting to do this. Initially I can't really see the problem except that it may seem shady.
But if I broke the non-commercial license, it would just be the same as distributing the album illegally, which if I wanted to, I could already do by simply ripping the CD.
I have the producers' contact information, but I'm hesitant to contact him, simply out of fear of being regarded as stupid (I'm even hesitant to post this, but eh, fuck it).
So... is it possible? Should I go for it? Am I a dumbass?
