Tips on mixing background vocals? (Harmonies)

Post Body

I’ve posted about this before but I love to outsource and get other creatives pov on how they go about mixing backgrounds. I use GarageBand on a Mac so any tips directly correlated to that DAW would be amazing but all DAWs are welcomed to give their input. When I say backgrounds I’m talking Beach Boy level. Stacks on stacks of alternating harmonies. So far I’ve practiced eq but compression has me a bit stumped. I want to make them sound more colorful and less muddy in the mix. (Almost like a choir)
