Examples of tracks with wide stereo kicks and snares
Post Body

Any one have any references of classic 60s/70s pop/rock records that have wide stereo kicks and snares? Iโ€™m mixing a record at the moment and the engineer has recorded multi mic kicks and snares, and hard panned them Left Right. Usually itโ€™s my preference to have the kick and snare pretty centre, and widen with reverb or stereo layers to add a bit of dimension. But these recordings have a flammy / wide slap delay type vibe. Not sure if Iโ€™m into it, but having a good reference might allow me to capture the essence of the intention.

This is not true at all, stereo mixes were released on vinyl in the 60s too
