I'd like to recommend Out Of Place for anyone who loves alternate history.

Slight early spoilers may follow, but they are necessary to explain the core of the show. I will be as vague as possible while trying to convey the elements that make this an excellent audio drama.

Out Of Place follows Andrew Moss who is an anthropologist at a museum. He starts to receive strange items from a mysterious source that he needs to catalogue, but there's something off about all of them. They don't line up with conventional history.

It is mostly told from Andrew's perspective as he logs his personal opinion. I personally think the voice acting is really good and believable. We also learn a fair amount about Andrew's personality and personal life which helps make him a realistic character with depth.

As the serie progresses the overarching story slowly develops but the biggest part of the episodes remains a stand alone investigation of situations in alternate history: If this event didn't happen then why didn't it happen? And what consequences does that have? Other times it's the other way around: If the situation here is like this, what event caused it to diverge from our history?

I highly recommend listening to at least three episodes to get an accurate feel of the show. But there are a lot of overarching plot points that only really develop later than that.
