Iāve run into this type of response a lot. My coworkers tease me, my friends kinda do a double take when I say audiobook (yet they listen to podcasts so whatās so shocking?). Has anyone else come across this type of response when discussing audiobooks in general, or mentioning that you ālistenedā to the book when discussing books? Now I for one donāt care who thinks Iām a nerd or what other peopleās reactions are but for the sake of not having to explain myself I just say I āreadā the book when the topic comes up. I just donāt feel like explaining myself or audiobooks.
So anyone else out there with this issue? How do you respond and what kinds of reactions do you get? I honestly donāt get why people have this reaction to audiobooks and I never really get a straight answer when I ask someone what is so weird about it? Do you also ever just give up and tell someone you āreadā the book to get them to shut up?
