Post Body

I listen to 6-8 hours of audiobook each day. This makes me mostly very happy. The rare exceptions are when I realize I've totally and completely missed the mark because my brain heard something, translated it to words, and then accepted it without further discourse. Case in point: I just finished Neal Stephenson's amazing Termination Shock and one of the main characters is Theodore Roosevelt Schmidt who we are introduced to by a shortened name that sounds like "Tiarre" or "Teoare" to my ears. I figured it was a handful of letters from ThEOrdoRE, similar to how Margaret can become Maggie. Not until nearly the last few chapters did I realize that the narrator and other characters were all referring to him as "T. R." *smh* What are some of the audio goofs you're willing to admit to?

I listen to non fiction sports books all the time and you can tell which narrators have any clue about sports and which don't just by the name pronunciations.
