Low audio w/ D3 mic on LUMIX S5

Help! I have tried Google, YouTube, and the manual and can’t seem to find an answer to this. I have a deity D3 mic (not pro) and a Panasonic lumix S5.

When I record video with the mic (it’s plugged in with the green light on) the levels are very low, the play back audio is very quiet, and there is distracting white noise happening in the recording.

Furthermore, when I try to play back video on my camera I can’t hear anything (probably a whole other issue) and have been listening on my computer. Pls help!
