Hey all, I'm setting up my first ever Hi-Fi system since I'm moving out to live on my own and finally will have the space for floorstanding speakers. The amp I choose will be the BlueSound Powernode Edge (N230) (2x 40W at 8Ohm, 4Ohm minimum).
Now for the speakers, I live in The Netherlands, so EU market. And I will have to buy a pair of floorstanders used. Luckily any of the ones I'm listing (or it's predecessor) are readily available on the used market. I mostly listen to Heavy Metal & Hardrock (Metallica, Judas Priest, Gojira, Rammstein, Megadeth, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Foo Fighters) as well as Blues, Country, Indie, Folk, Dreampop.
I want the speakers to FEEL alive. If i'm listening to a live version of a song, then let me feel as if I'm at that concert! So the speakers have to be balanced well and not sound soft or wooly. Tight bass, detailed mids, airy highs.
Speakers I'm considering: - Dali Oberon 5 & Oberon 7 - KEF Q5 or Q550 - Focal Chora 816 or 826 - Bowers & Wilkins 603 S1/S2/S3 - Klipsch R600-F / R6000-F / RP-6000F
Could someone with a lot of knowledge about speakers talk me through the characteristics of what these speaker brands are known for, and which option might suit my music taste and wishes best? On the reviews I've read nearly all these speakers score good reviews. And get recommended and praise. But which one fits my wishes best? Please, please, help.
