Losing credits when unsubscribing?

Just wondering about the rules of unsubscribing. It says I’ll lose all of my credits if I do? I just got a Years worth or audible for Christmas and it’s just gave it to me in credits? For some reason and now I’m trying to unsubscribe since I just got a Years worth and it’s telling me I’ll lose all of my credits if I do. What is this horse shit? And how do I get around it?
And if I can’t who do I call and Bitch to?
