Hey guys, I found the above-mentioned watch on the grey market for 190,000 k usd. I am not looking to resell the watch as I think its absolutely gorgeous and want to wear it, but for that large of a price I think I have to think of its possible resell value in the future. What do you guys think the future market will be for this particular model? Ref 26331IP.OO.1220IP.01
I hope you are right and I can finally get a RO lol. All the grey sites I lurk on have so much inventory that hasn't moved in months. Takuya has a 41mm ROC Panda that has been on his site since Feb and was originally listed around $100k. He has since lowered the price to low $90ks, but I saw the same watch auction for about $65k in the Moda Facebook group last week (which I think is a much better indicator of true market price). Like I said above, I think prices have peaked and are on the downward slide.
I think a good rule of thumb is to buy a piece assuming it will lose money. If that is of no concern to you then you should buy it. If you get hung up on future value/holding value then move on. Watches, for the most part, are not investments. For this particular piece I think I the risk of you taking a bath on it should you decide to sell later on is very low given its an AP and a truly limited one at that.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with the current downturn in the market and if any of the pieces that dealers proclaimed were great "investments" actually provide a return.

Very true. I made $11k selling my last car at the end of it's lease. Car was worth more used than it was brand new 3 years ago. Crazy.
