Hey all, visiting AC next month and really looking forward to it, but a couple questions

Is there a problem with people getting their stuff stolen? I'm gonna be traveling alone and won't have anybody to watch my phone and such if I go swimming. Obviously there's risk of that on all beaches, but wondering if it's known to be a problem at AC
What's the deal with alcohol? I'm not going to be obnoxious but would love to bring a 6 pack while I'm hanging out on the beach. I read contradictory information online that the beach is all open carry now, but wasn't sure if that was just a covid thing. If I keep the beers hidden and cover them with a coozy will anybody give me a hard time?
