Happy National Grill Day! Or Independence Day (great movie, btw.)
I hope everyone enjoys a PHENOMENAL day of fireworks, cold beers, just sliiiightly burnt hot dogs (it's not good unless it has that charred side, you feel me? Not too much though), as we reflect upon all the freedoms of this great nation, and blah, blah, blah.
We all know what today is really about is having a long weekend where we stuff our face with barbecue and watch stuff explode in the sky with a way-too-large crowd of people in lawn chairs.
This got me thinking though...since today is the day we celebrate our independence, what does freedom truly represent, and what is necessary to sacrifice in order to achieve it?
I have my personal thoughts (nobody is truly "free", just free from things other people aren't) but I want to get your thoughts
What does freedom mean for you, and what's the price?
I'll let you ponder the question over a few Bud Lights while I watch my neighbors fire really obnoxious fireworks mid day.
*Side note, has anybody ever had a fireworks fight? Like, shoot small fireworks at each other? Ah, the blissfull stupidity of my high school years. Good times.
Anyway, hope you have a blessed day! π
