TL;DR: You ALL have the ability to change someone's mood/day for the better, regardless of what you think. You're awesome, and you should share that awesome sauce with the world.
Don't be shy now ;)
Totally piggybacking off u/cupokelly's post earlier (GO CHECK IT OUT) about complimenting strangers today. I noticed there were a few of you who said you normally want to, but you're too shy.
BAH! Nonsense. You're too cool, funny, sexy, and all-around AMAZING to be shy.
You're also not shy around the right people.
What it really is, is that you're afraid of coming off weird if the interaction goes bad. It's overthinking. We all do it. It's universal on some level.
The cure to this is to realize that everyone is caught up in their own world, and even if things go weird (they won't unless you're weird), they'll forget about it that day. It literally doesn't matter.
However, if you give someone a genuine compliment, it'll lift their spirit like you wouldn't imagine. They'll remember that.
People don't remember what you do, but how you make them feel.
I want you to think about it this way: You're giving somebody a gift. The gift of you, and your appreciation. Who WOULDN'T want that?
I know I do ;)
Everyone wants to feel seen and appreciated. When you give a compliment, you're giving them that feeling, and it makes their day better, It'll make yours pretty sweet too.
So, go make someone's day better. Be the reason why someone smiles today. Even if you're scared, do it anyway.
Kindness costs nothing but it always pays dividends, even if it isn't directly to you.
You're a gift. Share it with the world around you.
You're wonderful, and I hope you know that.
Have a great day!
