Now firstly, I don't believe they're purely there to make money - I know the majority of them fervently believe what they believe.

HOWEVER, I am certain that when the Vatican makes $355,000,000 a year there is definitely some money moving through the church. I posted this image on facebook and got the question "How is Catholicism based on money? (u kno I also don't believe it's based on power or a false deity, but for the sake of cutting the argument short...!)" from my sister.

Any valid arguments would be appreciated as it's not something I know a heap about - but know I've seen comments and arguments about on /r/atheism before so I'd appreciate your help if possible.
