Hey all, I'm after some opinion as to whether I should take up the content of my 9 year old son's Christmas concert at school. They're reading/singing "an all american christmas" a holiday spectacular by teresa & Paul jennings. It had 2 songs specifically about god and Jesus,as well as 1 hymn. The text itself talks about the culture of America being mixed from all over the world (doesn't mention the native Americans...). I want my son to learn about all cultures and religions, I think it's important he learns, understands and respects other people's beliefs. If this concert had talked about and sung sins from the other religious holidays going on at around the same time, I would welcome it with open arms. However, they're not, it's purely about the Christian belief despite never actually coming out and saying so. So, what are my choices, should I talk to the school about this or am i over reacting? I know that if the had put on a concert just around Hanukka, there would be hell to pay,and perhaps that answers my question. I'm a Brit living in Ohio by the way, so having to come to terms with this sort of thing alot more than in England. Thanks!
