Does anyone know anything about "the starset society"?

A close friend of mine has recently shown an interest in this group and looking over their website is setting off a lot of red flags for me. Is this just harmless conspiracy theorists or some kind of potentially dangerous cult? I'm not having any luck finding any information about them online except their own website, facebook, etc.
