So, I went skiing today and every time Iām in the mountains, the old Christian hymn āHow Great Thou Artā starts playing in my head. For those of you who didnāt come from the faithy background, itās about seeing all the beautiful, powerful, and wonderful things in the world, and being dumbstruck with awe for their creator, who happens to be the singerās āsavior, God.ā I like the song, and its message, even if I donāt share belief in the target of the songwriterās awe. Iām not sure where my awe and wonder are directed, but I definitely feel those things.
What say you all? Do you feel awe, wonder, majesty? Do you have an idea of where those feelings are directed?
