I made a post the other day on a variety of subreddits the other day and i was in a low place. I challenged demons to come and get me cause i was tired of being paranoid of something i didnt really believe in and then i got so scared i was wrong and that i messed up royally
I feel a lot better now though and i think im ready to let this fear go. Demons (at least the popular view on them) is catholic propaganda with a hint of celtic and germanic folklore and if constantine didnt pick up christianity in the 300s then it would be like all the other forgotten iron age cults.
Maybe there is something out there that is real that has been given names like ghosts or spirits over the years like how there is lots of different folklore for what thunder is, a real very natural force of nature. There is still no reason to believe any of the major religions know anything about them if this is the case. That or all of this is all collective hysteria, hallicunications brought on by suggestion, or poor mental health (or a combination of the three) and none of what people have seen is real at all.
Regardless I shouldnt be scared of demons either way and i feel better now that ive thought what i know about "demons" in regard to where all this came from.
(Also fuck r/ paranormal, delusional fucks fueled my anxiety and told me i was in danger and was right to be scared for messing with darkness i didnt understand. Not a single skeptic on there but to be fair that is probablly to be expected)
