Ok, so I will be in an area of virtually zero light pollution (northern Minnesota) for a hunting trip this next week (10/28) and I want to dabble in astrophotography. I have an extremely sturdy Manfrotto tripod, a Scotch tracker, a Canon 40D (glass unknown at this time as I am borrowing the gear), and will have my laptop with BackyardEOS loaded. This is my first time out seriously and I would like any general tips. (Polar Alignment, Camera quirks/settings, etc.) My plan is to try and capture a solid image using my tracker first and then another of star trails for kicks and giggles.
