So, I’m really excited for the Steam Deck. My laptop was good for most of what I wanted to play, but it couldn’t handle the majority of games after the PS3/Xbox 360 era, so I’ll be able to play a lot of games I couldn’t before (including AC Origins which I bought not realising it couldn’t run) and play games on the go (thinking of getting Brotherhood and Revelations when they go on sale just for this). But one of the biggest things for me right now is the nostalgia for Assassin’s Creed IV on Wii U.
Being the only modern console I had for most of my teens, my options were limited, but one of my favourite games to play on it was Black Flag. I have such good memories of going through the story multiple times, trying to stealth my way through at any possible opportunity, and just sailing around on the open seas. Seeing the Steam Deck in action is bringing back so many great memories of playing on the game pad, and I can’t wait to start a new playthrough when I get Steam Deck in Q1 2022 (maybe this time I’ll finally get 100%).
It’s one of my favourite games of all time and my introduction to the series which got me thinking where others started. Maybe you started with Black Flag, like me. Maybe you were there since Altaïr. Or maybe you only started with Valhalla. Regardless of what it is, I’d love to hear about it.
