Modern Day for AC Shadows?

I know Mirage had no modern day, and I wonder if shadows will have anything to do with it. I know Ubisoft wanted to step back from modern day, as recently it’s been really bad. Not really connecting with the story. With the new games going onto the infinity hub, I wonder if there will be a tiny bit of modern day. If Ubisoft does decide to bring it back I hope it’s good. Maybe would it have to do with Basim since after Valhalla he is alive in the present. If they did decide to have Basim be the new modern day protagonist, I would like to see his intentions on why he decided to replace Layla.
