How'd you guys think the American civil war would fit an AC game?

I think it could be a interesting idea, but I don't know which of the two game types it would fit.
Would it be better as an RPG or as the classic style?
The assassin's would secretly backup the Union in order to achieve freedom.
The same way Connor's assassin's backed up the U.S during AC 3

I mean... I admittedly haven't played them, but I've seen them, but didn't Liberation and Freedom Cty have some elements of that?
