This game takes place in near-future Rio de Janiero. A kid get hired by some fixer to steal a truck filled with Isu artifacts from some rival gang. He joins up with a group of shifty characters wearing hoods as they intercept the truck. Unfortunately a fight ensues, the truck is stolen but the kid gets left behind. After being captured, he has his family threatened and is forced to make a choice. Lose both his arms or lose both his parents. He makes the obvious choice. In order to repay the debt of priceless artifacts, he is forced to become a lookout and is gifted with mechanical arms (which the cost of are added onto the tab) and is forced to never see his family until he repays his debt to the gang.
After 9 years of scouting for this gang, not only has he learned to navigate the city of Rio like the back of his hand, he is halfway done with paying off his massive debt. One day after scouting a hideout for an unnamed rival gang, he and his scout-mate are attacked by similar shady figures he saw all those years ago. His mate is assassinated but he is able to fend off the attacker long enough to get some answers. The fighting ceases and they talk, here Is when the kid learns about Abstergo, the Templars, and the Assassins. After seeing some potential in him, the would be assassins ask if he would like to join their cause but he needs a moment to think. Entering into the gang hideout he overhears his gang leader talking with a strange woman with a tablet, they’re talking about a secret war that is taking place in Rio and that they’re winning. With a small sense of conviction the kid contacts the Assassins again to ask if they have a position open for a new recruit, they happily oblige.
I would really like this kind of game where it’s sorta futureistic but grounded to a degree. The kids metal arms would probably be able to have all kinds of upgrades like a hidden blade, phantom blade, some kind of poison dart, then would be able to upgrade with defense perks. I also think adding a Free Flow kind of combat would really spice the game up a ton. Cybernetics could really create unique combat encounters and situations. Rio de Janiero would offer a completely unique world for the Assassins as gangs, police, Templars, and Assassins fight for control over the city and its regions. Rio could also offer a unique terrain for the player to explore and iconic places to discover. Rio is a place of bright and expressive culture and music but has darker undertones.
I think adding cybernetics could also add to the story. Not only is out protagonist trying to see his family again by any means necessary, but he also struggles with his own humanity as he finds himself chopping limbs off to become better and better at achieving his goals.
I really think that this would be an amazing AC game.
