Hello everyone,
I’m going to get straight to the point to make this as short as possible.
I’m an online college student, and currently I’m taking a required Public Speaking course. I need to give an informational speech within 5 minutes and 30 seconds with an audience of 4 people minimum. This meeting will be through Microsoft teams. I want to ask if you can join to watch and help me reach that 4 (minimum) participant requirement that would be awesome and so helpful for me!
The topic is “How to potentially spot an Autistic woman based off of traits, behavior, and even objects.”
I’m asking you guys because I will feel more comfortable talking in front of people that are like me and potentially interested in the same topic that I’m talking about. Autistic research and traits in women is one of my special interests. My friend will also be giving a speech. I’m not sure what it’s on yet, but she’s really nice!
The requirements for my audience, based off of my professors instructions are
-The audience members approve of being on recording - “Teams audience members have to show their face on screen for the duration of your presentation. Please only select those individuals that have your best interest in mind. Audience members should not be eating, sleeping, in their car, or walking around. You should have their undivided attention.
So we need about 30 minutes for the speech portion (I provided a spacey time cushion just in case me or my friend need to do extra takes, The speech is supposed to be 5 minutes with a 30 second time cushion). And I was thinking that since a lot of Autistics special interest is Autism, after the speech portion is done, we could just hang out for a bit if you want. If not that’s okay, you can leave after the speech is over! But if you want to stay and chat that’s also an option! We can talk about our special interest or whatever!
The meeting is this Friday at 12:30pm
(9/23/22 12:30pm est)
[edit 1: I put the wrong Friday originally, it’s actually the 23rd.]
[edit 2: Thank you to everyone who reached out to help me! I didn’t expect so many people to be willing to help, but because you were It looks like I’ll have more than enough people at the session 😊. I don’t know how to disable comments, but I wanted to let you know that we have enough audience members so you don’t have to comment any more 💕!
I would be happy to participate! Like seriously! I'm writing an article about autism and being an adult woman on the spectrum and I'd love to get your perspective.
