Trouble with exercise classes (Auditory Processing Disorder)

Post Body

It just dawned on me recently that the reason I might not enjoy exercise classes (like Pilates or yoga) is that I could have APD.

It’s like my brain can’t hear what the instructor is saying and convert it quick enough into what the instruction is telling me to do. I end up frustrated and confused about how I should be moving my body and then I lose all enjoyment from the class. Maybe I just hate classes or maybe it’s APD?

Anyone else have this experience?

Comments

I tend to take Zumba or other dance classes.

Honestly, when an instructor is telling me to do something with my body, I have a hard time keeping up. If they just do the dance, I can pick it up at a regular rate.
