Burnt out from job, calling out procedures, quitting???

Post Body

Recently found out Iā€™m carrying a child, which has become a 24/7 job in itself, leaving me exhausted. Just called out of work today (texted really) because I hate making phone calls, especially when itā€™s calling out (I feel like I get yelled at a lot over the phone and I canā€™t control it, but when itā€™s on text, at least Iā€™m not overstimulated by someoneā€™s vibrating vocal emotions)ā€¦. I asked for a schedule change because I canā€™t work 8 hour shifts anymore and Iā€™m absolutely dreading it, which is why I called out today, because I get exhausted, nauseous, need to take naps, and I got reprimanded by my boss the other day bc I needed to snack on a cracker. (Wtf, there werenā€™t even customers around, and he said I was having a full on meal when I just munched on a cracker and sipped water).

I really just want to quit on the spot. (Over text obviously). And it sucks a lot because it feels like I canā€™t keep up with the corporate world of ā€œneed to give two weeks noticeā€ and ā€œneed to call out, not text, professionalism yada yadaā€. I canā€™t keep up šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Do they know that you are pregnant? In the US, there are laws that protect pregnant women against discrimination. If you work somewhere with a union, I might give them a call about the situation and see if it could be rectified without you having to quit, assuming that you still want this job.
