Do you ever play out social situations with people in your head and you feel very confident and then once it happens irl it just all falls apart?

Sometimes i play out situations in my head of hanging out with people or talking to them and it seems like there’d be no way anything would be weird or awkward. Then when something happens in the real world it seems to all fall apart and goes wrong and i can’t point out why. Why can i socialize with people in my head and know what to say but in real life i can’t?
