Aspies with changing interests

What are your experiences like when it comes to interests?
For me, I have periods of intense interest for a certain topic, the most recent of which is linguistics and conlanging. However, in between these periods I can get stuck with boredom because nothing truly interests me, so I occupy my time with previous interests (although, they don’t provide as much entertainment as originally).
I’m interested in hearing if there are any similar experiences and hearing the variations.
