Follow your dreams. I did. Now I am trying to get beyond entry level in a non tech field and the number of openings have been decimated. I am trying to apply to adjacent fields (like business analyst and tech), but either the pay is lower or I am not qualified. I was content when my industry had OT 4 years out of the 5 years I have been in it, but OT has been out the window for almost a year, even during a special time of year when people should be irate. I get no one owes me a job, but it seems like it used to be someone on the spectrum would be a shoe in for tech or whatnot (I code in my spare time and have a modest github), but now it is all about people skills. I HAVE PEOPLE SKILLS DAMN IT! (I am kidding, but after dealing with people it does seem like it). Sorry for the rant. Applying to 100 jobs in 2 days is a bit frustrating and then there isn't anything new for another month or two. I also rotate and apply in some cities nearby and some that are hubs for my line of work and remote. I think I will work on those tech skills, my portfolio, and hope for the best.
