So long story short I like tech and finance. I currently work in financial operations but feel stuck. In my own portfolio I turned 5k into 140k by trading stocks and investing in real estate. I plan on getting my CFA as my company will pay for it. However I have been stuck at the same job for 3 years and can't help but feel there is a glass ceiling at the job. I keep an eye out for other jobs but all are financial advisor jobs and if I wanted to do that I would just go out on my own (as most company's products suck). Also I would rather be a funds manager than an advisor. So long story short I feel stuck. Also many of the new people on my team have less experience than I do. On the plus side I have been able to deal with customers pretty easily.
On the opposite end, I think about leaving the industry, probably for teg, but the whole people skills thing pops up there. Also the credentialing pops up, even though I feel like I can keep up with most the stuff. I just feel like most high paying jobs (75k and up) require brown nosing, even so called aspie friendly industries. I am also working on a programming certificate in case this is the route I go, but it seems like either require either another degree or luck.
The other option is to go commando and try and find investors and try and do deals anyhow. I know it is a long shot, but I feel something in my gut tugging me to do it. I do have a Saudi friend who works for the Saudi finance ministry and might be able to work on a small dela I am pretty sure could work. Honestly I am starting to think going rogue is the way to go as I am not moving to New York and at most I might move to Dallas.
Have any of you faced career impasses?
