I was reading someone's post on here about guns and something struck me beyond guns. People, regardless of political stripes, are controlling pricks. Maybe it is me, but I really don't give a shit what someone does. I don't associate with them. But take the case of murder, theft, and rape. Laws stop murder a little over 50% of the time and anything beyond that or assault are basically in legal no mans land. This system does not work and I am not proposing any particular system as my ideas may or may not work, but the fact is that even if we agree on things like murder, theft, and rape, laws don't work to stop these things.
One thing that does seem to work is to have countries or areas that are smaller and\or have something that tie them together (similar culture, race, history, or other factors). However whenever you notice these things, people look at you like you are discussing alchemy. The way people organize as a people (however that may look) needs to come into the 21st century. The nation-state is outdated but that does not mean we should adopt supernationalism (IE UN dominated world or whatever).
To the point, about the guy and the gun, I know plenty of people that like to show guns on fb, talk to coworkers at work about it (I think I had a family member ask some co-workers if they wanted to see, but in fairness it was hunting country), and I think those things are faux passes. If those people are NT's and do stuff like that, then how even more so should we protect people on the spectrum from the wrath of government. The recent Counterman case waiting on the Supreme Court document will be interesting to watch beyond just the implications for no mens rea. Beyond that, I think it opens the door to a legal system that is more polycentric and is more just in my opinion. As it stands currently, it seems like the legal system treats people with disabilities and who are neurodivergant as externalities that must be account for, instead of as free people whose brain is different just like someone from Denmark thinks different than someone from the US. Ultimately a free society is a major plus for those on the spectrum. That does not preclude assistance, but laws only restrict self actualization if they do not protect only the life, liberty, and (property)\pursuit of happiness of all. When laws are restrictive with no good reason, then they stifle the creativity, freedom, and associations of all.
