The title is a bit tongue and cheek, but as I have been debating about whether to the Dallas Metroplex, I have been trying to quantify something and jokes aside it is convents/institutions for those on the spectrum. However, when I try to ask this is moving thread, I words it as trying to be ambitious or things to do, but what I am really asking is that are there places to meet with like minded people and work on things. Meetups can be good, but they are hit or miss. I have debated as to whether Silicon Valley has more institution. It does, but it seems more focus on bottom line than creating new things. There might be exceptions like the Internet Archive or the like, but it seems hard to find places that you can express yourself and have a shared sense of culture. A lot of that seemed to have died out in the early 2010s. The only place I still feel that energy is at music events. Any thoughts?
