Apparently season 7 was to be her last:

His inclusion was supposed to be a surprise to Williams, because, according to him, Arya Stark was supposed to die that season.

”She’s always been awesome,” Sheeran said of Williams. “I don’t think they had written the ending yet. It was meant to be her last season but it wasn’t. And as a surprise for her, [they got] me on. So, she was meant to turn up on set and I was by the fire.”

I don’t really know what to make of that, other than wtf. Doesn’t seem to make any sense in the context of season 7 or the books.
