I'm not gonna claim to be the first to have thought of this, but I'd like to have a discussion about it!
(blanket spoiler tag just in case)
The few questions I've been thinking about lately is why there aren't any pov characters from House Tyrell or the Reach in general. These characters, and really, that entire kingdom, is presented to us exclusively through the eyes of other characters. The more I think about it the more I lean towards it being an intentional choice.
But also, why?! Why aren't we ever given an insider on the Tyrell family, someone within the family, and through them we can learn about these characters a bit more intimately. To me, the entire Tyrell family feels artificial. The characters, Margaery, Olenna, even Mace, and everyone else, don't feel genuine? They feel like a produced, filtered version of their true selves. Maybe it just feels this way because of the lack of pov.
I don't know what other questions that are worth asking here that I might've missed. I'd just love to talk about this some more!
Bonus q: who would you like to see as a Reach POV character? I feel like Garlan Tyrell, being a middle son, or Loras, would be interesting to read from. That said, I struggled a great deal picking a Tyrell character that feels authentic, and not a presentation.
