oI'm going to admit right now: I haven't read the last book yet and it's been a while since I read the others. So if this is already debunked please excuse my ignorance. I was trying to explain to a friend earlier about the direwolves and this thought suddenly popped into my head. I'm tossing it out before I go to bed, so feel free to tear it to shreads while I sleep. :)
The Stark kids and their direwolves are very close. You can see each child's personality reflected in their wolf. And we know, the wolves can be foreshadowing. The large wolf killed by a stag, then Bobby B shows up to call Ned South.
Of the kids, Robb is dead and his wolf with him. Jon is at the wall with Ghost. Bran and Rickon have their wolves with them. Arya and Nymeria have very similar stories, both lost and turning wild (in a way). But Sansa. Lady is dead, killed by Ned.
Lady was killed by a Stark. Does that hint that Sansa will meet the same fate? Lady was good and quiet and well behaved, much like Sansa was. But it didn't protect her from the Lannisters' cruelty, much like Sansa. I think, in the same way, Sansa will meet her end at a Stark's hand.
Not necessarily in a bad way. Could be a mercy death, could be the person doesn't realize she is Sansa until too late.
