Hey all!
I'm not very well-versed in this whole scene, so to speak, but I had a question about something I've experienced ever since I was a kid.
Basically, sometimes when I hear something isolated in my right ear, I get a strong tingle, almost as if I'm being tickled, in the lower right hand corner of my back. It's not particularly pleasant - It can become far too intense and I have to twitch and move to try and get rid of it.
It's not every time, but as an example it's always been an issue at the hairdresser's - whenever they're right behind my right ear with the electric clippers I feel it strongly and it's very uncomfortable. I also get it occasionally with music, most recently this video set it off super strongly.
Oddly, right after something sets it off heavily, I find myself more sensitive to it even listening to music I'm usually fine with.
Some preliminary research indicates that this might be an ASMR response. Could this be the case? I find it odd that it only really affects my right ear. Furthermore, is there anything I can do to mitigate the feeling?
Thanks in advance!
