I had the idea to attach a contact microphone to a pencil and record myself scribbling on paper with it. I don't get the tingles, but it was fun to make. So, if this triggers any of you, I'd be happy to make more. Furthermore, I can clip the contact mic onto anything that will fit within the clip. It doesn't have to be a pencil. Suggestions welcome.
I don't have interest in creating videos, I just like experimenting with sound. I know you prefer video posts, hopefully my audio will be good enough to stand on it's own.
The details and the links:
I attached a Korg CM300BK to a pencil. That was plugged into an LR Baggs Venue DI and recorded through a Yamaha AG03. Gallery link includes the setup, the page with the scribbles, and an altered version of the scan for better visibility.
Here is the audio. 10:00 long. First 30 seconds are me sharpening the pencil. The rest is me applying the pencil to paper.
And if that doesn't work for you, I've got 15 minutes of audio that I recorded with my ocean drum. As the name implies, it basically sounds like ocean waves.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas. I have a decent amount of audio gear and am looking for fun ways to use it. I'll be making sonic experiments regardless, but if you think they'll give the ASMR community some tingles, I'd be happy to share.
