My sister always told me that women can never truly have friends who are men. I’ve always tried to prove that wrong but honestly I’m thinking she’s right. Most of the time at least. I just started this new job. I’ve been there for about a month now. And it looks like I’ve made a work friend. But he made some flirty comments the other day and I don’t know how to respond/act.
I work in security so i mainly have male coworkers which honestly has been pretty okay. I work outside of the building and I come across a lot of people.
Recently, I’ve been talking to the city security. In LA there’s security hired by the city to roam around sections in downtown yk to make sure nothing gets out of hand ig.
I thought we were pretty cool. Yk great conversation and it doesn’t last long since we’re working yk. But yesterday he made quite a few comments complementing my appearance. And a bold one saying he would go to a nude beach if I went with him 🫣. I said no. He didn’t keep pushing which was good. But now I feel kind of weird talking to him.
How do you deal with people/acquaintances like this? Especially at work since yk you can’t really avoid people like that.
