Very long story short, I grew up in the IFB and was married off to some dude I met 5 times that was chosen by my parents at the age of 18. Our only job was to have kids. That's it. And that's what we did. I gave birth to a still born daughter at 27 weeks. The thing is that I have never told anyone outside of my immediate family, including doctors (I gave birth at home and didn't seek medical care the entire 6 months we were married.)
My partner and I are getting serious and it seems like now might be the right time. I just don't know how to bring it up. She knows I had a rough upbringing and she knows somewhat about my marriage. I haven't gone further into detail as it is quite hard to speak about. I really trust her though and I feel like this could either bring us closer together or completely tear us apart. Any advice would be amazing.
Edit and Update: I told her last night and she was super supportive. It was definitely scary in the moment but now we are so much stronger. She's coming to therapy with me on Tuesday as moral support so I can tell my therapist and further process this. We're also talking about a memorial as she never got one. It will probably be something small, but way better than nothing. Thank you everyone ❤️
