I met this guy on a dating app. We are both really into music - - he's a drummer and I'm a guitarist. So far he hasn't done anything that may be a red flag for me, but I don't know him that much because we seldom talk, and we only talk online.
I made it clear to him that I'm not looking for anything serious for now. Also, I'm a bisexual and I've only dated girls in my life. He is the first guy I've ever matched on a dating app since I only set my preference to women.
Despite this, he still asked me one time if we could go on a date sometime. I was fine by it, and to be honest I kinda want to try going out with a guy. I told him okay, but I made it clear that he should not expect too much from me. He said it's fine, and even if we don't vibe well, we could still be friends as musicians.
One time he saw my cover that I uploaded on YouTube. I was specifically wearing a costume because I posted it during Halloween. He then suggested that we do a collab wearing matching costumes. I've long wanted to do a collab with someone, so I agreed to it.
He brought up that since he has a studio in his home, he suggested we record the vocals there. I'm hesitating so much since it's my first time meeting him, and we're straight up meeting in his house? Not to mention he is the first guy I'm having this kind of encounter with, so I don't know how it usually goes.
I don't know how to properly say that I dont want to go to his house yet since it's our first time meeting. I'm open to doing the recording there in the future, but this time is the first. I'm afraid I might disappoint him or he might get upset - - I don't know how to trust men.
But I don't want to fumble this chance of doing a collab because I really want to do it.
How do I politely reject his suggestion? It also seems like he thinks I already agreed to it even though I haven't yet.
I want to learn how to draw boundaries since I've always been a people pleaser, and I want to try it now.
