Trouble coming out at Work
Post Body

I'm out to most of my friends and typically am female presenting in public. I live in the deep south and work in IT and speak with about 100 customers per week. My office is very friendly and open, we have some openly gay and non gender conforming people at work. However, I'd be the only trans person there. Possibly even in the company's history. I prefer feminine pronouns and to have my chosen name used, but I'm ok with my birth name used. I work with a lot of very right wing and conservative customers and would hate to ruffled any feathers. I'm so far in the south these people have been set in their ways forever and I don't feel like it's my place to change them. I just fix their computers. I'm thinking of legally changing my name, but still using my birth name at work for simplicity's sake. Does anyone else feel like this?
