Should I quit my job to work for Starbucks?
Post Body

Hello, My name is Brenna and I’m a 23-year-old transwoman. I’ve been having severe intense bottom dysphoria and facial hair dysphoria lately. I’m currently at a job I love but I don’t make very much (about $1,600/mo after tax). I moved out about 8 months ago when I started this job in January.

Is Starbucks really all it appears to be? Do they truly pay for GCS/SRS and laser hair removal/electrolysis? Is there nothing out of pocket that you won’t get reimbursed?

I’m finding it more and more likely that I’m just going to go home, apply for the Starbucks near my parent’s house, and work there until I can get all the transgender healthcare I want. From GCS/SRS to hair removal and maybe voice training, before I come back to this industry I’m currently in (that I love and is what I studied for in college).

So if getting all of that covered really is as easy as it seems, that would be really helpful information to help guide my decision. Thank you and have a nice morning/day/evening/night.

Edit: Thank you everyone for your responses! I’ve decided that I will continue my job I have because it will be much more mentally fulfilling and there were too many downsides from the people I heard from that worked at Starbucks. I will just get a consultation and quote for the surgery and go from there. Having a dollar amount in hand is better for my sanity anyway.
