A compilation of unexpected changes in feminizing HRT
Post Body

Today, after basically a year being sure on wanting to start hormone therapy, I stumbled across someone mentioning another possible effect I was completely unaware of. Sure, I would have been looking for accounts of individuals with great interest, but how could I miss something quiet important for such a long time?

I needed to change this. Below are the results of my systematic research on reddit. I cannot tell if the effects are related to therapy or the accounts are true. I might have duplicates. I only included what I found interesting (though I was aware of most of it) and focused on physical changes (mostly). Expected changes are not included in most but not all cases. I tried to sort from top to bottom.

There are a few things I find remarkable:

  • A large absence of FtM-Answers on this topic. I didn't plan on posting this collection when I started so I sadly cannot include you at this point, but either there are hardly any changes not being expected, drastic under-representation or I was looking at the wrong places (mostly this subreddit)
  • It is quiet shocking how many reported sense of smell and change in own body odor. Going by the amount of accounts, I would guess that this is something really normal. Why is it listed among the unexpected effects by so many people? Is there no word on this in medical information? (I haven't noticed it in the WPATH guidelines by the way.)
  • The amount of variance within our bodies and how complex they are.

Please, tell me if I missed something. I am grateful for additional sources/statements where I only have one/few sources.
