US Insurance System is Annoying
Post Body

So yes, I get it, Iā€™m under my momā€™s insurance, so thereā€™s bound to be limitations. But hereā€™s what I donā€™t get.

Cigna Nationwide policy is that GRS is a medically necessary operation and is fully covered. These statements and documents are pretty easy to find online.

But for some dumb reason any company can just opt out of providing a certain type of coverage to create a-la-carte plans for their employees.

So if all of the companies opt out, Cigna, then youā€™re not exactly ā€œon our side.ā€ What gives? Either itā€™s medically necessary and you always cover it or at least be honest about your policy and call it cosmetic because thatā€™s how youā€™re treating it anyways.

TL;DR: fuck confusing private health insurance and Cigna gets no ā€œally pointsā€ for their BS
