How to gauge parents reactions to coming out?

My parents have never really said their opinions on trans people which has lead to me feeling nervous about coming out to them, i mean if they were transphobic i at the very least would feel okay not telling them until i could stand on my own two feet, but right now i have no idea how they'd react.
And the thing is i wanna tell them since i feel close with my parents but i don't want them to abandon me so i just feel really hesitant in coming out and wanna know what they think beforehand.
