Hallo, ladies, gents and everything in-between!
I have a question. I was born abroad to a German mother and an American father, in the lovely city of Ulm, Germany. I'm going to be starting a career in trucking soon, and I want to change my name because the changes from hormones are happening very quickly with me, and I'd much rather to avoid any confusion when out on the road and with my employer.
I know you can change your name here in the States pretty easily if you're born here, but I have no idea how I would go about it personally, since I was born abroad and lived there for some time before moving here to the US. I've tried googling it, but all I could find was information about US citizenship for people born abroad, not changing my name. Will I be able to change it easily over here, or will I have to take a trip to my home country to get it changed?
Thanks in advance,
Laurin (or Stevie, your choice)
