How much money should I have before I talk to a therapist?
Post Body

Hello, I am a 16 year old boy and I would like nothing more than to start Hormone Replacement Therapy. I make about 30 dollars a week, not much, but it can still help. I have about $120 saved up right now. I asked my therapist if about $1000 would cover it (I have insurance, all I need to pay for is the co-pays). I just wonder if I really need to save up this much before starting? It will take me nearly a year to save up what I need and there's also the fact that the faster I act, the quicker I stop my male puberty. I just wonder about how much it would all cost? I need to go to the therapy sessions, meet with the endocrinologist (I'm not sure how many times I meet with my endocrinologist though, still confused on that) and I have to pay for preliminary tests which I'm not sure how much it would cost. I know I should be patient but I've been lost in terms of my gender for my entire life (I always wanted the girl toys, I tried dressing like a girl, had girl hair, etc.) and I'm getting tired of waiting and I also fear waiting too long will not allow me to be a "complete woman" because I will have been in the male puberty for quite a while now.
