Does anxiety/depression need to be treated before dysphoria?
Post Body

Hi, so I just recently started going to therapy for my trans issues, as in my first appointment was last Tuesday...or, so I thought.

You see, they've actually only scheduled appointments to test me for my anxiety and depression, since they are saying they need to be treated first. This would be one whole month of testing that doesn't relate to my largest issue and will likely not impact my anxiety and depression, seeing as I am nearly positive they stem from dysphoria, at least partially.

So my question is what should I do? As far as I know this is the only nearby place covered by insurance but there is a LGBT resource center that specializes in gender around here that could help my parents better understand. I just know waiting a whole month alone and unhappy isn't what I want-especially when I could be getting treatment for dysphroia.
